Each car I passed in the paddock was more amazing than the next. I wanted to shoot everything that came across my viewfinder.

This is Alexander, and he’s going to be a racecar driver real soon. While I was shooting this car, I was able to speak with his father, Cris who schooled me on the history of this car. It was built on May 2, 1980 and owned by Bob Donner of Denver, Colorado. He raced it in the 1980 Virginia City Hillclimb and set a new hill record.

After that, it changed hands numerous times. In 1999, it was purchased by Charles Wegner of Chicago, Illinois and races in the 2000 Shell Ferrari Challenge where it finished third overall. In 2001, it was sold to its present owner, Jim Fuchs, and is still racing to this day! A thirty year career and counting. That’s pretty impressive.
