SEMA 2024 : African American Automotive Association and the future

I’ve had the honor of knowing Chris (Christopher Harris) for many years now. We first crossed paths at local drag racing events here in South Florida many moons ago. From the moment we met, Chris’s larger-than-life presence, infectious attitude, and relentless work ethic stood out—qualities I naturally gravitate toward because I admire determination and a strong work ethic.

It’s no surprise, then, to see him at the world’s largest automotive trade show, positioned in Central Hall with a booth that represents much more than just modifying cars.

This year, the African American Automotive Association x Foxxtecca booth stood out, showcasing some of the hottest vehicles at the show. Among them were two beautifully crafted Porsches brought by Bisimoto, one of my favorite builders. Meeting Bisi and having the chance to talk for a bit was a truly memorable moment.

Our approach at this year’s event was a little different than in previous years. While we always focus on capturing tons of content, this time, we set out to produce in-depth interviews and uncover the stories that go beyond the machines.

The moment I connected with Chris at the show, we picked a day and got to work. Having the opportunity to tell my friend’s story and share his vision with the world—through our lens—was an incredible experience.

In today’s world, where polarization often takes center stage, we believe it’s more important than ever to highlight the values of representation, inclusion, and passion. The community we love is, and always should be, for everyone. This is a message we’ll never stop showcasing.

So, join us as we catch up with Christopher Harris and dive deeper into the framework of this incredible organization.
