Every time I find my self walking the Las Vegas Convention center surrounded by some of the hottest builds of the year, I just cant believe it. It’s pretty awesome to have this be part of my job, and to do it with a great group of people really seals the deal.
As the week goes on, we will be going into detail on some of our favorite builds and overall show experience. This time, I will kick it off with the CATuned BMW 2002. I am familiar with CATuned from seeing a previous BMW build in 2014 and ever since then I look forward to seeing what they bring to the show.
Having kept up with them on Social media, as the show creeps closer everyone tends to release just a bit more information of what they are bringing and it causes general excitement.
The wheel choice gives the car a classic race look while still keeping a modern feel without the need for popular 3 piece wheels. These 15″ BBS turbo fan style wheels were an excellent choice.
It’s not just about looks and stance. This BMW is powered by a 3.2 i6 m20 stroker motor with all forged internals assembled via Bimmerheads, and will bring everyone to take a double look at this build as they make their way through the show.
Theres many ways to expose a brand on a build, a custom valve cover is a nice touch that has substance and adds to the detail and effort.
A custom gauge cluster with stack gauges flow with the style in place. The exposed wires, metal and clusters are a nice touch which keep the theme tied together.
Every year, Air suspension is taking long strides at providing a comfortable ride with the chance to slam your car without losing drivability. Accuair is one of the few on top providing a stunning product that is used on many of the CATuned builds.
Thankfully we got to see the car before the swarm of people take over the show Tuesday, if you happen to be visting you can find the car outdoors between the North Hall and Central hall, unless they decide to move it, in which case you walk until you find it!
